The guidlines for recruitment printed below was written and published by a member of a COD clan. A couple of things were changed to suit the needs of our clan. All credit to most of the verbage goes to the author of that clan. In the interest of saving time, we will reprint and slightly change a few of the sentences below . Our policy for recruitment is similar. Should you become interested in being a member, after meeting the criterias below, we will let you know verbally in Teamspeak or offer you an invitation.
RECRUITING PHASE
The Recruiting Phase can occur in one of two ways:
1.a. A Clan member sees a potential candidate, gets the candidate involved on TeamSpeak and in the forums. After a period of time (average 2-4 months) in playing with the potential candidate, that clan member can suggest that the person in our membership forums and we setup a vote. All members vote.
1.b. Anyone may solicit to join via the forums. Simply introduce yourself after you've registered on this site and tell us a little about yourself in a post on the forums. Sponsorship from a member is NOT required. Regular play and involvement ARE required.
CRITERIA
2. The criteria that we are looking for are:

Candidate is 18yrs or older

Is NOT a member of another clan (dual memberships are not permitted)

Regular participation in forums

Regular participation on TeamSpeak

Regular participation in game (defined as consistent playing in a 2-4 month period)

Abides by and assists in enforcing the rules
-
Assists others in game play
-
Displays the attitude & image that reflects positively upon the clan in forums/games

Interacts well with other clan members.

States a willingness to support clan functions and pay dues.

Willingness of a clan member to formally sponsor/mentor the applicant (not a requirement, but a definite plus!)

Game skill/ability is NOT a criteria

Responsible and HONEST game play! No hacking! No lying! No playing glitches!
The Old Farts is looking to SELECT the BEST candidates that we can comfortably game and have a good time with. Anticipate a 4 to 6 week time period for us to determine if your [OF] material.
So, what is "regular participation?"
- A good way to know if you participating enough is to ask yourself these questions.
- Do I know most of the clan members that play Bad Company 2?
- Do regulars also recognize me?
- Am I starting to consider this place a second home?
- Do I converse with members about things other than rule violations in game?
- Am I avoiding constant mortaring/kicking/burning/etc from the acting admins?
- Do clan members treat me like an unofficial clan member?
- Are you comfortable asking a clan member to sponsor you?
If you have answered "yes" to most of these, then you have a very good chance to become one of us.
