Most have been focused on multiplayer for this game. If you haven't played the single player campaign...it's pretty damn good.

It is pretty good and the ending leaves it open for more.

WHAT DO YOU GUYS MEAN "it is pretty damn good" IT IS F*%$+/!  AWSOME! With the graphics and the story line I think it is one of the best (if not the best) singleplayer FPS's out there. Of course having a GeForce 275 card helps.

I'm so darn out of the loop. I have a ATi 4850 and a dual core Athlon w/ DDR3 mem, think I can run this?

You'll never know until you get the game. Run it with the default settings (the game will pick one based on your system) first. Running the game on low is not bad, it's the choppy crap that happens when your CPU can't process all the players at once. Just for comparison sakes:

Your card is good. Better than mine, a 9800GT @ 512MB.

If your dual core is less than 2.10, consider an upgrade, you might not enjoy it so much. I have a Athlon X2 4000@ 2.10.

DDR3 good, as long as its more than 2GB. 2GB is okay. I have 2GB.

If your CPU is better than mine in clock speed (2.10), you'll certainly run this game a lot better than what I'm playing it at. I run the game on all low settings, and I currently play at 15-20 fps. When more than 5 players are playing, depending on where they are on the screen, it becomes a uneventful experience.
